With heavy heart and deep sorrow,the Nigeria High commission in London anounced the death of H.E Alhaj Umar Yardua , president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria


In hounor of the departed president , first a 7 day period has been declared by the the FRN with effect from 6.5.2010.Second, nigeria flag will fly at half mast in Nigeria and all missions abroad.
A condolence book /register has been opened to the public at the reception Hall of the High commission no 9 Northermbaland Avenue London WC2N 5BX as scheduled

NOTICE TO THE PRESS

Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs to Host Haiti Tech Meet-Up

The U.S. Department of State will host a conference to explore how technology efforts are helping to rebuild Haiti better on May 10, 2010, 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in the East Auditorium of the George C. Marshall Conference Center. Members of the private sector, non-governmental organization (NGO) community, academia, Haitian Diaspora and media will be briefed on efforts to incorporate text capability into the emergency system, mobile-granting/banking, resource allocation, distance education, building community watch groups and other critical areas where technology can provide opportunities for Haitian citizens.

We will be posting information related to the event to: www.state.gov/haitiquake. Twitter hashtag for this event will be #HaitiTech.

This event is open to the press.
