This week, David spoke about Broken Britain, we launched plans to improve behaviour in schools, the Conservative poster archive went online, our Party Election Broadcasts aired, and Boris continued campaigning hard to be London Mayor.

Mending Broken Britain
At our Strengthening Families Summit on Thursday, David spoke alongside Helen Newlove, whose husband Garry was murdered by teenage thugs.
David stressed the responsibility of parents to make sure their children "grow up knowing the difference between right and wrong."
Helen attacked the yob culture in Britain and called for stronger community values. You can watch an exclusive video of the summit by clicking on the image opposite.

Giving Power Back to Teachers
Michael Gove and David this week launched a document setting out our plans to improve behaviour in schools.
They announced a series of measures to restore the authority of teachers, including giving head-teachers the final say on expulsions, allowing teachers to physically restrain violent pupils, and making it easier to ban and confiscate items.
After the launch, David visited a school in Walsall, where he got a tough grilling from the pupils. You can see what happened by clicking on the video opposite.

Unprecedented coalition unites against the far Right

Operation Black Vote (OBV) has joined forces with leading faith groups including The Muslim Council of Britain, The Jewish Race Equality Council, leading Church Groups and others to unite against the threat from far Right groups such as the BNP.

OBV will launch a 100-foot billboard poster across the Capital that warns of the critical danger from the far Right at the upcoming elections. The poster reads as follows:
If you don’t vote, they win. In the London Elections, Every Vote Counts.
The poster is designed in a Banksy Style design with a hard hitting image.

The poster launch is on Tuesday 8th April at 10.00AM-10.30AM. The site of the launch will be South Lambeth Road , Vauxhall SW8. The nearest tube is Vauxhall on the Victoria Line.

OBVs research indicates that far Right groups such as the BNP could win up to three Assembly seats in this London election, giving them the balance of power in City Hall. If turnout is low, far Right groups could gain political ground under the proportional representation voting system. We estimate that if 50,000 more Black Londoners vote than in the last London elections along with other communities the far right could be defeated.”

OBV are campaigning to increase voter registration and voter turnout by all communities to decisively beat the far Right, and ensure that all the mainstream parties adopt an inclusive agenda that reflects the views of Britain ’s BME communities.

The campaign launch will be attended by a host of celebrities and politicians, as well as, representatives from all faith communities,
